2015 SUN MOON ASEAN SUMMER PROGRAM FOR ENGINEERING
Sun Moon University inform you about a good international opportunity for the ASEAN students who are majoring in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related majors.
We will have a special summer program this year in Sun Moon University with the support of the Korean Government.
This program will be from the 6th of July through 14th of August (for 6 weeks) at Sun Moon University.
We will provide the students with full scholarship benefits including round-trip airfare, tuition, boarding expenses, and in-Korea transportation to all qualified students who participate in this summer program.
The detailed information is as follows.
1. Who can apply for this program ?
a. Be a citizen of one of the 10 designated ASEAN countries.
(ASEAN countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore,
Thailand and Vietnam)
b. Undergraduate students who are majoring in one of the following fields:
- Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
or related major fields.
- except for freshmen, only the students enrolled in the second to fourth year in the university.
c. The Program will be conducted in English. Students must have adequate English language skills.
(TOEFL Ibt 70, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent levels)
- If the student have other certificate or score of English language skills, it is also accepted.
(ex. TOEIC, the university’s own test)
d. Students must be in good health.
2. What can the students study during the Summer Program ?
Students will select one track among the following 3 tracks:
Track 1: Semiconductor Device control or Display Device Control
- Electronics Circuit Design
- Fundamentals of Devices
- Application and Control of Devices
Track 2: Control Software
- Basic course of C Language
- Basic course of C++, Visual C++
- Application of Visual C++
Track 3: Machine Design
- Fundamentals of Device Design
- Basic Course of 2D CAD, 3D CAD
- Application of Device Design
All students can participate in the following sessions:
- Capstone Design and Field Study in Companies in Korea.
- Tours in Korea (Seoul, Kyeongju, Gongju and other famous places in Korea)
during the weekends of the Summer Program.
- A Basic Course of the Korean Language at Sun Moon University
3. When it will be held ?
- from July 6th to August 14th 2015 (6 weeks)
4. What are the benefits for the participants?
Sun Moon University will provide following:
- International Round-trip Airfare
- Accommodation and Meals during the Summer program
- Internal transportation in Korea
- A Scholarship for all tuition fees for the Summer Program
- Insurance during their stay in Korea
- Sun Moon University can give 18 academic credits for this program to students
if your university agrees to accept the credits.
5. How to apply?
- Prepare the application documents* and submit them to the university you enrolled.
The due date is different from the universities.
- Every university should submit the scanned application documents to Sun Moon University
by 22nd of April to global@sunmoon.ac.kr.
The originals should be arrived by 4th of May to the address below by post.

d. Original Transcript from Currently Enrolled University
e. A Letter of Recommendation from an Academic Source (Form is provided)
f. A copy of the Passport Information Page
g. A certificate of Health completed by the hospital (Form is provided)
Through the Special Program, you will also have the opportunity to meet many outstanding students from other nations in Asia and to begin building the international network.
