Dear International Students,

I am Son Jin-hee, Dean of the Office of International Affairs at Sun Moon University.

I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to all the international students whose lives have been directly or indirectly affected by the recent coronavirus (Korona 19). It is true that the number of confirmed patients is increasing day by day. However, Sun Moon University is trying hard to provide a safe environment that will allow students to concentrate on their studies. Therefore, we would highly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

【 Tips and Prevention】

1. We recommend that you stay alone in an isolated area for 14 days after entering Korea. (Avoid external contact as much as possible.)

2. Avoid unnecessary outdoor activities. (We strongly advise all our international students who are presently in Korea to seriously refrain from traveling to other provinces or regions within Korea.)

3. Wear a facemask when going out

4. Please contact us if you have any symptoms

  (Kakaotalk or Tel)

  - China/Uzbekistan: Kim Sun-gil (041-530-2073)

  - Japan: Sato Kiyomi (041-530-2077)

  - Vietnam/Other countries: Kim Min-young (041-530-2076)

5. The Korean government provides free treatment for infectious diseases in the event of an outbreak. In other words, all medical examinations and treatment costs regarding the Corona-19 will be covered by the Korean government.

【About Class】

1. Starting date of 2020 spring semester: Monday, March 16th

2. There will be a Two-week Online-class after the semester begins. (More details will be announced)

【Dormitory entrance】

1. Since there will be a Two-week Online-classes after the semester begins, students can voluntarily move in until March 29. (Please note that moving in before March 16th is also possible).

2. Observe health care guidelines to prevent corona-19 even after entering the dormitory.

On behalf of my office, I would like to thank all students who have trusted Sun Moon University and agree to follow the guidelines provided above. We promise to do our best to support not only your academic life but also your health and safety. I hope to see you soon on campus in good health.

Son Jin-hee, Dean  of the Office of International Affairs at Sun Moon University
