Studies abroad during the Semester

Exchange Program picture

A program in which the students study their major in a Sister School for a year. Students will be selected strictly and they have to have a high language proficiency test scores to ensure their language ability is enough for them to understand the classes of the schools they applied.

* Expenses might be different for each Major at the time of application, please consult with the Global Affairs Team for more information regarding the expenses.
Note that the number of people dispatched for the 3+1 General Study Abroad Program each year is subject to change.

※ Regarding the University of Bridgeport, enrolled students must pay 1-year insurance fee (approximately $ 1,660,00) according to the University’s regulations,

02. Qualifications for applying

A. Students in the their 4th Semester or higher (Ideally students in the 2nd Semester in their 2nd year and higher. Excluding students in their last semester)
In regards to the ROTC students, only selected candidates in their 2nd year 1st Semester can apply.
B. A standard of 18 credits (15 credits for 4th year students) the previous semester.
Once the tuition fee is paid at Sun Moon University, a maximum of 10 students can study at Bridgeport University each year.
Note that the conditions (support) might be different for each University

A maximum of 10 students can take the regular course at the University of Bridgeport each year, once their tuition fees have been paid at Sun Moon University.
(However, only 3 students from each department can supported throughout the year)

03. Courses Benefits

A. The full tuition fee paid at Sun Moon University will be returned to the student as a scholarship. Please note that, the provided scholarship cannot exceed the tuition fee of the University abroad. In the case it exceeds, the student has to pay the difference of the tuition fee at the aforementioned Universities

B. Students with the condition below can receive the following Scholarships:

1) “Love Heaven” Scholarship Students : Students with a score of 80 on the TOEFL IBT or higher will receive an International Studies Scholarship equivalent to the semester’s tuition fee paid at Sun Moon University.
2) “Global Leader” Scholarship Students   
- Students with their TOEFL IBT score higher than 90, will have their outbound expenses, plane ticket and living expenses covered (500,000w per month)   
- Students with a TOEFL IBT score higher than 80, will receive an International Studies Scholarship equivalent to the semester’s tuition fee paid at Sun Moon University. In addition, their living expenses will be covered by Moon University (500,000w per month).
3) High Grades Students Scholarship (Only top student of the department, or in School are eligible)   
- Students with a GPA score of 4.0 and above and TOEFL IBT score higher than 80, will receive an International Studies Scholarship equivalent to the semester’s tuition fee paid at Sun Moon University.
4) School Staff related Scholarship students Scholarship for the Children of University’s staffs, Veterans Scholarship   
- For students with a GPA score of 4.0 and above and TOEFL IBT score higher than 80, will receive an International Studies Scholarship equivalent to the semester’s tuition fee paid at Sun Moon University.

C. The credits (a maximum of 18 credits per semester) obtained during the Program will be acknowledged as liberal arts credits by Sun Moon University:

07. Procedures

1st phase: Document Review 2nd phase: A written test. 3rd phase: Interview (an interview done in English will be Included)

※ Written Exam: to make sure the applicant has sufficient competence in English to:
① understand lectures conducted in English
② express herself/himself in written (speaking) English
③ read widely in English at the school abroad.
